Reminiscences

My heart is filled with thoughts of you  that I cannot put to words.  I guess I have run out of words; my plume has ceased to perform.  Should I take the final bow as  my heart protests? Ah, in my thoughts  Orpheus' lyre keeps on playing; bringing tears to my soul which you may never see, for on the  day of our reunion...perhaps,they would  cease to be; though only Zeus knows when that could ever be.  I beg him with tears of blood  that can melt the iceberg  of the Arctic or even the heart of Hades.  My bosom expands day after day  with prayers that only my soul  has the courage to whisper.  My arms long to hold you till  eternity resigns from its post, should the  host of Olympus ever grants it.  Oh what endless, pointless journey  this is without your spirit beside mine... will it be perils and sadness  all throughout the journey?  I plead Eros no! for my life counts on it... and only you can bring it to perfection.

I beg him with tears of blood that can melt the iceberg of the Arctic or even the heart of Hades. My bosom expands day after day with prayers that only my soul has the courage to whisper o wow! strong thoughts conveyed here! I had to read this stanza over again to find it's depth, because it is so very deep! I want to share with you how I found it's fullness. I beg him with those same tears of blood that can melt the iceberg of the Artic or even the heart of Hades. Selah! My bosom expands day after day with the prayers that only my soul has the courage to whisper. Very nice expression of your soul!

Hell of a love poem ... a soliloquay first rate. I hope you got what you wanted. You bring in a lot of external sources to help you in your quest. I hope they didn''t turn you down. And I hope your bosom didn''t expand too much less you wouldn''t fit into your bra! Anyway, quite well laid out. An easy read. Good title.

Hi April....this poem is heart wrenching...a plea to a loved one that is soft and evocative. Your word choices are delicious and written in free verse has given you the freedom to express yourself with the passion you feel. You bring some Greek mythology into the picture which enhances the entire poem. Well done....keep writing. Blessings...Marilyn

Hi April, Wow! This one is another outstanding poem to note. This is heartfelt, heart-wrenching but so inspiring especially to the person whom you reminisce. The first stanza is very captivating and compelling and the like... My heart is filled with thoughts of you that I cannot put to words. I guess I have run out of words; my plume has ceased to perform. Should I take the final bow as my heart protests? It is simply inspiring! Here comes the entrance of Greek Mythology in the second stanza! Your forte! The Greek musician Orpheus is apptly associated! But the fear of being not there in the reunion is doleful and my heart is also pinched. I beg him with tears of blood that can melt the iceberg of the Arctic or even the heart of Hades. My bosom expands day after day with prayers that only my soul has the courage to whisper. So poetically writ! I am so amazed by writing as always! Keep them up! Jordan
