In The Coo of a Dove Another day it breaks A new light begins to take And I feel and see the coo Along the skyline On the power line As only morning doves can do Willing to roam… looking for home… So many plans to make Do I know which line to take? And all our years, they just flew Following your guidelines Me, a branch in your line As your son, what would you have me do? Can’t take you home… your to weak to roam… There are hundred places I could have taken you… Should have taken you… And there are hundred things I could have told you… Should have told you… And now I can only think of one… I’m your son. I’m your son! Another day it breaks A new light begins to take And I feel and see the coo Along the skyline On the power line As only morning doves can do They’re calling you home… they’ve taken you home… |
Additional Notes:
I lost my Father in March. I knew what was happening to him and I knew what to do. In this poem, when the Doves came I didn't know what was happening in me and I still don't know what to do. And now, another day it breakes and I hear and see the Doves coo... Even his phone line, his phone number that I grew up with is gone now too...
