To Those That Pick on Dweebs

Have you one thought in your head         not put there by another? Have you sought one single discovery         worth any of the bother? Do you really have a purpose other   to be in the way of one who might? Do you have eyes that wipe landscape  but never settle upon one solitary insight? And I'll bet you're proud of it.

Yikes! James, you sure know how to poke eyes out with your pen! LOL! (gently rubs eyes after reading this one) *grin* Lots of powerful jabs in this, along with a lot of stark truths, too. I LOVE the questions you present here. So often we 'look' without 'seeing' or 'hear' without 'listening.' I have known people like this, as I'm sure we all have. This makes this poignant poem so easy to relate to. I adore the ending, it reaches out and slaps you right in the face, "....and I'll bet your proud of it...." Powerful! It's as if you "spit" those words out at us. One question, (maybe I'm lost here) should there be a "than" inserted between "other" and "to be in the way of?" No matter...I still think this is absolutely wonderful. Really makes one think. Thanks for sharing, James. This is so very well penned, but then all your offerings are well penned! I so enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing. KUDOS! Many blessings, Mary

Hi james....Well fun it is...but...why do I think you are speaking to Arnie?? whether you are or not makes no matter this poem is still funny and I wish I could remember it by heart as I might need these words someday! We do come across many "dweebs" during a life time...some are to be pitied and some just need to be ignored. "Do you really have a purpose other to be in the way of one who might?" is a priceless line and I have met people who deserve it. Just consider the source I always say....keeps me out of trouble! Love your sense of humor! Be at peace....Marilyn

Guess I must be that Dweeb! Not really proud of it...just never thought about it...takes too much energy, and I'd rather do something more constructive than write this kind of so called poetry...oops. Did I piss you off?

James, I have my thoughts/and discoveries but I also learn it's been thought and done before me. And without a purpose you have no reason to be alive.[Victor Frankel-the meaning of life] And what is there to be proud of? Sounds like an unthinking, unknowing, unconscious, materialistic, ungodly cad! Interesting/very interesting. Dellena
