untitled

i traveled the path of childhood dreams with winding curves through fields of gumdrops and golden clouds full of sunshine and promise    before me my vision has become clouded            by a girlhood romance              a promise is made             a promise of freedom        a freedom into a glorious future a promise which prevents me from seing what lies ahead   ahead to where before me the path has branched off            onto a road less traveled     a road that in reality leads into a future a future where once bright clouds have darkened                    unnoticed       ever darkening clouds shadow the path            a path that leads to a land           where dreams become nightmares grotesque figures rise out of the vast endless fields fields no longer filled with the gumdrops of my youth but now instead they are filled with madening terror      terror made softer through blurred vision    the harsh reality of a future without freedom   a future of endless paths that lead into nowhere       nowhere but deeply into the pits of hell            constant numbness and fantasy          become the only safety and comfort            in this utterly loveless land           perched on the brink of insanity                    i see a light a light of such brilliance as i have never before known                it is the light of peace               it is the light of promise               it is the light of freedom                  at last sweet freedom                    traveling once again                   on a path of dreams                   with winding curves                through fields of gumdrops    and golden clouds filled with promise and sunshine                       finally life                       finally hope                       finally peace
