Waiting Arms

In darkness she sits listening to sounds of  his labored breathing She watches his chest slowly rise and fall His hair the color of silver moon light His touch cold and clammy His dark brown eyes a cloudy stare His face void of any expression His soothing voice now silent His heart's pace  slowing till none Tenderly she kisses his lips Softly she caresses  his face Quietly she whispers goodbye my love His soul soars upwards to waiting arms.
