EXCURSION INTENSE

A requisite journey is at hand Not with footsteps paced by plan But by fancy Spontaneity, curiosity dictates the path. I do not know where each step will lead My body is still but my mind is freed To go where it will Experiencing, participating in this cerebral dance. A tour of times when eyes were blind To the miracles and beauty I could find But turned away Craving, wanting to know what was yet to be. Selfish and proud I aimlessly wandered Fame and fortune were often pondered In self-pity Shamelessly, blatantly hoping for more than was earned. Cobblestones of memory lightly touched Some evoke tears others a blush But no fear or pain Hopeful, grateful, serenity envelops my soul. Comfortable and at peace with the way that I feel Eyes open wide, karma at an even keel Between past and present Awaiting, inviting the mystery of a brand new day!

Additional Notes:
A bit of insight into my life from then until now. I hope that you will see a bit of yourselves in this, and if not, perhaps take an excursion of your own!
