The Pendulum A pendulum divides My friend and me. Arcing far above our Helpless heads it perseveres. WHOOSH! Its heavy blade descends, Deterring all attempts To run across and close The tiny gap. WHOOSH! Its intensity a wind As once again it Ascends, chilling Either side. WHOOSH! It slices through the Ground beneath A thin, clean chasm in Once solid earth. WHOOSH! Until at last Time severs clean The bond once thought invincible. |
