Within Reach

Once again traveling a road that has been ventured on, once before. Darkness prevails yet the light widens near the end, as this soul continues it journey. Reflection is made upon the first venture and comparisons are made. The mind focuses on the differences and the inevitable… Reaching, finding only air Grasping that, which isn’t there Oblivious, yet recall            maybe a final rite In the tunnel, light and a silhouette  Horsemen ride, an ominous site A figure shines within the passage, at a distance            Thus lifting this soul Ells no longer within this route  Truth endures, no longer ramblings Visual now, air with brilliance             a soothing mist upon the spirit No protrusion from within this cylinder Mind transcends, so little fear Memory begins to finally clear             These eyes are now open                 Awaken for a sliver of time Repeat performance, no longer blind Horseman ride, no sense of fear Movement felt, no slipping tear This road will only gain in brightness…

Thomas, It almost sounds like you are resigned to die! You feel like you will be in a brighter tomorrow.......ok But lets live each day as if it were a gift, tommorrow will take care of itself. Your every moment is a blessing to the rest of us. We are all one! I pray you aren't quietly waiting to die/that makes me sad. Your poem holds every kind of emotion. You do a good job. My best to you Dellena

Thomas, This is such a unique offering, it reminds me of a "waking dream" or "dream of knowledge" if that makes any type of sense to you. You've shared an awesome look into your journey of enlightment, few ever document such events let alone with such clear pennings. Thank you for sharing, I wouldn't change a thing, bravo! Best always, Lora

Hi Tom: Enjoyed this read very much and your ability to compare it to a prior journey makes it come to life even more. The words penned help create the emotions needed so one who reads knows and understand there is no fear in dying, it is the closing of one door and the opening of the next. The tunnel, the light, the horseman, all of it a part of this journey and indeed this road will only gain in brightness. I pray you are well and though I remember you have been quite sick in the past I am hoping that you are well now. Thanks for posting, be safe, God Bless, Claire
