A Critical Case

I knew a man who liked to go to plays, but sorely lacked the critical facility of parting play from fact. At one Shakespeareian festival (God bless the poets mother!) Our hero got so angry at some Richard or another, that up he jumped and raved and cursed, (the morning paper said), then pulled a pistol from his belt and shot the villain dead. And as the dragged him up the aisle our man was heard to say, "The dog is dead!  Long live the King! Great God! On with the play!" A few half-hearted tears were shed over the hack who fell, though almost all the critics wrote that it was just as well.

Additional Notes:
After the last little slice of grimness I posted (Amusement Park) I thought it might be time for a little lightheartedness. I had a ball writing this. I hope you have as much fun reading it.
