Delay

Standing, a solitary, one stolen moment    recanting timeless the need Touching lusting laughter's torment      ending decisively, freed       too old to do the deed.

Like how you maintained the structure and rhyme with powerful words and phrases. Stolen moment, ending decively, too old these are the words that bring depth into the poem. Well done James. Thomas

Delay....Perfect title. I read this several times. One stolen moment...defiantely poetic. I love the way most poets here can pen such beauty with the twist of words. Rene'

James, Oh how word rich and thought sage you are becoming, the suit fits you well, most enjoyable, wouldn't seperate out one line as favorite for it would leave the rest wanting for praise. Succinct and perfect. Best always, Lora

Poetically, a wonderful condensation of thoughts into few extremely effective words that wrap around in a marvelously concentrated way. I've started a book where I write down possible titles for poems, since titles are always the most difficult part for me of poeming. Thinking of that, and with the poem being so straight-forwardly conclusive, I wonder why you titled this poem "Delay"? Terry

James, I'll probably be wrong.......it sounds to me like a man wishing to do manly things[like he did before] and he's actually freed of having to play the game, [not really his choice/but when you have lemons one deals with it possibly deciding to make lemonade, or forget it, and get on with life......] the pressure to perform is gone. By losing in one area, you can gain more in another! [it's a fact] Not bad, not good, just different! If I'm way off, I'm sure you'll tell me! I must be here to test you..... dellena
