Peeking Through the Branches

slowly moving the leaf,          this phantom thief,                    looks beyond... upon the land of lost souls,          he really knows,                    the cost of... placing it back gently in the proper place,          he will not have to face                    this life... What is the cost of this life? Will he pay the dues?          A thought hidden.

I've seen too many war movies, heard first hand accounts of friends as they returned from war.....prayed hard for my nephew and son in law as they took their turn protecting and serving our country. I see, I feel and I long to hold those who were left behind to thank them for their sacrifices and to let them know they are loved even today......a shame the world did not feel like this in many wars though........I see the enemy peeking through the branches watching and waiting to strike and take their kill in hand. I am sure though this way or another it is a fine read with much thought involved. God Bless, Claire

Thomas, I see someone holding to goodness and habits. Someone afraid to even ruffle the leaves for fear of repercussions. It's great to be safe and good but how can one continually grow in more and better-ness, if you hole up in a 'safe' place never daring to test your strength of character. basically the bloom stopped growing! My best, no hiding here...... Dellena

I believe everyone pays their dues in life even if at the end. A good thought provoking piece. Rene'
