Memories and Smiles I thought about the past today
Visions of yesterday
It brought a tear to my eye
But today I did not cry
Instead I smiled at the thought
Of memories I have not forgot
The way you used to tickle me
As you would tease me playfully
How the laughter in your eyes would dance
Tet, sparkle with sincere romance
Your gentle touch and loving ways
How the sun would shine on rainy days
I closed my eyes and saw you there
Smelled your sweetness in the air
I felt your arms embrace me tight
And I knew that it would be all right
For anytime when I need you
Now I know just what to do
I'll close my eyes for awhile
And remember you with a smile

I think you took a gigantic step!
Not only are you uplifted but inspiring.
Never do we forget our loved ones, but now they can be helpful and glad that you don't suffer so much.
They love you as you love them and it is so wonderful they can make you smile again.
It is now a gift bestowed from beyond, and joy is all of yours.
Your poem is simply wonderful, and I feel my departed through you.
Your timing/spacing is perfect. I am pleased.

Hi Rene....a lovely and heart felt poem. Tis so easy to relate to your words....whithout our memories just think what a pale world it would be. I find this time of year especially difficult, just as you must. Soon we will have two more holidays under our belts! I'll try to smile if you will....
