Simple Minded

I have such a simple mind        as I move forward, towards the web the world should be so kind        a direction, that I was led. Did I even notice,        as I reached this final goal. Was it justice,        the selling of the soul. Now I am stuck,         amongst the silken fiber; Was it just luck,         as I'm eaten by the spider          Life is too complex

LOL, I really liked this. I never expected the ending. This is like a nursery rhyme. Great job on this one, Thomas! Rene'

Hi Tom....I am glad you posted this poem even if you wrote it a long time ago. It is lovely but more than that is is very thought provoking and evocative. Terse as far as the words and lines go but says mountains in what is between the lines. "Life is too complex" is a perfect ending for this profound piece...it left me thinking 'yes way to complex for humans'....do we ever know what life is all about? I think not. However, I believe poets see things differently than most and have the ability to express what they do know and see and experience. You are one of those poets....brava. Marilyn
