O lucky man

The rituals of the bloodless life require so little thought and memory to enact that I had let mine sleep. But lo! today the epic collector has risen up through our vast and ancient tongue, defiant and alive in gibberish's dungeon, proclaiming songs remaining to be sung: and I have begun to believe again.

Additional Notes:
Just found Bloom's "The Greatest Poems of the English Language" at my favourite bookshop, and bought it. If not for MSS, I wouldn't have noticed.

Mark, Such flavor, such vibrance, your verbiage speaks volumns of promise and we shall await the rekindled flame to put pen to paper for our pleasure. Yes, ancient tongue, defiant and alive shall remain and hang the modern who so be closed off to proven eloquence, tried and true. Classics remain favored for their purety and intent and if for no other reason than to give poets reassurance and determination. I'm glad you found your spark to write and that you've overcome the melacholy the modernists seem to illict from your spirit. I especially like you closing stanza, a proclamation that I myself will try to harbor... Best always, Lora

Hi Mark, Just as I said. You write some remarkable poetry. Enjoy Mr. Bloom. I'm reading Mallarme, Verlaine, TuFu and the french symbolists for my Christmas dinner this year. At last! A chance to do what I want to do. Happy New Year! Terry ps I read two books on critiquing, and this is all I come with for a critique. overload, and then don't want to be scholarly critical. Next year, maybe. Liked this poem very much.

Hi Mark....I care not what inspired you to write again, only that something or someone did! Your last line is full of hope and new discovery and it warms my lil ole heart. You have gone such a long time without writing but now you offer up this gem that insures me that your muse is alive and well. Please don't let your pen become cold and dry...I have missed you. Hugs...Mazza p.s....great poem, by the way!

MAH, Well finally! It'll be probably about the best investment you've ever made. Already bearing fruit, too. As I'm already a member of this congregation, a chorister to boot . . . Let's open the good book and study together. Welcome home. I fancy calling it Fortress Europa. MSS
