At the last....

to have come so far and at times stood tall  to have fought so hard to have lost it all the hard fact to face that there is no place no place left to stand no winning last hand all hopes and dreams  soon cease to be as the last sun sets  i am memory so goodbye to romance goodbye to blue skies goodbye to the evils goodbye to the lies goodbye to tomorrows goodbye to my love  goodbye to the sorrows did ne'er rise above for the death blow has come one terrible fell swoop  that not only splits the skull but bashes the brains and snaps the neck as teeth splinter... life crumbles

Charles, Being perfectly happy is so rare and short lived. Thank god for memories. It sounds like the party involved just got his heart broken by someone he loved. It is a death of dreams and visions of the future. No greater can be the loss, but for death. Sorry you experienced a sorrow hard to rise above. You tell a short, sad, story, well. Dellena

As long as the darkness does not steal away the light or cause one to crumble and fall before his given time. A most powerful read my friend and the thoughts and images you have created flow in many different directions. Thanks for posting, God Bless, Claire

Hi Charles....and what is life without death? A very poignant poem that tugs at the heart strings. The loss of a loved one takes so much more than their body away from those that are left to grieve. You have so poetically pointed that out in this well written poem. I hope I haven't completely mis-read your intent but this is how the words speak to me. Well done......M.
