Economics

There is a book for every move to make inside a mind you want to change: a sale is all we ever seek to make, it seems. The sale of our ideas! Do none of them have worth unclothed by strategy, unmarked by flecks of influence? If so, if truth’s not evident to eyes, if naked truth repels, so then disguise becomes the economic truth.

MAH, I'd love to give you a pass, but the hallway is being very, very monitored. I've reached into my wallet and am waiting for the circulating basket. Lear's "off, off you lendings" is all I can hear - the same truth (and metaphor) distilled through that alembic of self and experience that makes high poetry. This, however, reads like an exercise in the seminary. It is redeemed somewhat by the honesty of the message, and the soul of the bearer. You could never produce fluff - but you are far from your stride here. MSS

Damn, it's good to see you're still clinging to the land of the living. Slightly put out, however, since you've rebuffed two of your friend's continued efforts to determine that. Cheerfully forgiven anyhoo...(sorry, it's the Canadians that do that, isn't it?) Yes, yes, the evaluation of even thought by its marketable asset. Must be novel...and inoffensive. Just like a politician running for office. No one's observed a bottom line in this culture (including Aussieville)that didn't fall within sound byte and/or dollars and cents since the Boston Tea Party. Truth?! Economic truth?!! Why that's Marxist. You want to get us all in trouble? "Unclothed by strategy"... my favorite line. That state requires close friendship and a nip or two of 90 proof. Not enough people can count passed $50 million, much less $50 trillion. Can't add up that translates to tough meat and no college for the kids. History has proven until they're toting around all the currency they can carry in a wheelbarrow just to buy a loaf of bread, it's all still cheery (you Aussies say that too, don't you?) Sons and daughters sent to the Iraq meatgrinder...you think these dolts don't deserve some retribution? It's just too bad the damage isn't confined to them. How's that for some truth that won't make us a nickle?...but it's pure...like Aussie snow. Damn, damn, damn...If I hadn't been banned from the forum you'd be starring in a Briar Patch episode right now. JCH

Hi Mark....good grief, man I thought you had passed on. (just kidding) Tis good to see you writing again...perhaps you will stay awhile. As I read this poem I thought I would give anything for a book that would show me the way or even more so, tell me if I am right or wrong. I find the truth is often disguised, too bad we don't know that ahead of time...maybe we wouldn't make so many human mitakes. A very thoughtful poem....glad you are back. Hugs....Mazza
