THE ADDICT

Once upon a shattered soul he thought he saw a sign The goblins set to calling him he knew it was his time His face of granite flicked a smile it was the first in days He's tried this more than once before in oh, so many ways Starvation first became his tool for taking back his power Demons spun inside his mind snorted dreams demand his cower Stifling fear became his master pills became his friend He took a blade and slit his wrist willing it to end When he awoke remorse engulfed they thought they'd made him well Not knowing they were playing God they sent him back to hell Now in the corner on the floor naked and unprotected He jabs the needle in his arm this time death is injected
