Whistle

Why doesn’t anyone whistle anymore? I whistle When’s the last time you heard it? (if you don’t know me I mean) I whistle If you know me you know My father whistled a lot With great creativity He could toot like a little Steamboat or loud and shrill to demand your attention But best of all he would break out in a cacophony hodgepodge of myriad whistles and toots It never failed to bring at least a smile I can’t do that so I just whistle tunes or maybe a bird call But, I do whistle

Kenneth, I enjoy your poem immensely. Your dad whistled making people smile, and you do as well! Hooray for you. Whistle your heart out, these are the things that matter! I need a tea pot of whistles myself, to improve my every day! Good job Ken. Dellena

Dear Kenneth; Very interesting work on Whistling. Questioning why don't people whistle anymore? Do you remember what a thrill it was to begin to whistle?...and carry a difficult tune? My brother once told me that the best whistlers could whistle when they inhaled and exhaled. That was thirty years ago and I quit shortly after that. Enjoyed this piece thank you for brightening my day. Gerard

What a throwback sort of 1950's black and white feeling little poem. I felt somehow that I was on the set with Jimmy Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life. I am not sure why, but this sort of poem is so endearing and wonderful. I have no critique to match the light heart I have after reading it. Thanks, Regis

Hi Kenneth, This brought a smile to my face too...The sounds of whistling certainly resonates through out it. Indeed, I whistle too. It's a unique stress buster...My grandmom..who passed last year...whistled endlessly..and there is one particular tune which has remained in my head and copied. It was nice to come across this 'whistling' piece this morning. Duane.

Your right dear sir when was the last time I heard a whistle....can't remember its been that long......boys used to whistle after girls all the time and drive the sister (nuns) crazy.....Mom had a whistle to blow when she wanted us home for supper (and you best show up on time).......once in awhile you heard a strange whistle as a man was admiring beauty before him and of course there are whistles like mine that hardly make a sound......Enjoyed the word flow, the memories and the sounds presented with this one......Take care, stay warm, God Bless, Claire
