For I am MOM For I am MOM hear me roar I can cook, clean And be ready for more I can change dirty diapers And peel gum off the floor I can deal with tantrums In the middle of a store For I am MOM can’t you see With my magic kisses I can cure anything From cuts on the hand To scratches on the knee To pinched little fingers And falls from a tree For I am MOM I see it all From spiders and snakes To little green frogs From a broken arm To out right brawls To marker and crayon drawings All over the walls For I am MOM don’t you know I wouldn’t miss a day Of watching them grow There isn’t any money And it’s hard at times But thank you God For making them mine Copyright* Melissa Budahn |
Additional Notes:
This poem is best read fast. It has a sing song rhyme to it. Mom is deliberatily capitalized. I did not put hardly any punctuation in this one. I felt that it would be easier for the reader to feel out the rythem.
This poem was inspired by my three sons. This is such a true poem with my boys around. If you are a Mom or a Dad for that matter I am sure that you can relate to this one. If you have any suggestions on the line "Falls from a tree" I would appreciate it. First letter of each sentence attentially capitalized. Thank you for reading I hope you enjoy.
