Boxed Stock

One's formation comes from the  meld and bond of his encirclement  Once flexible form, has been forced into a box  of sharp ridged corners poking edge to edge                          Making cookie cutter molds of people  Unmovable, baked to hold position Lastly labeled: color, sex, age, religion Used as such, rarely deterred from the marks   Bought before birth, then stocked and sold  on the exchange of labor versus money

Good poem Dellena with a message for everyone to heed. We are not "clones" we are all individual human beings and forcing "ideas" are going to alter the way we think. Personally I like to color out of the lines, I agree some boundaries must be set- but strict set in stone rules of life confuse me - Thank you for posting - a pleasure to read. Love the title - in a box is where most of us have to be. blessings, Deni

Dellena, the virtue of this piece is its lack of specifics. Although the function, to pride or shame, of the human, (sociological), condition exists- I get the distinct impression reading this that, although agreeing on the premise; you and I would probably disagree on the subject and sedition. As I said, the strength is in the paucity of actual enumeration. I think; that associated with the cause, is also the causative to the performance and acclimation of good. I have known enough of both and although channeled, have made the image of who I am, in a personal manner. I think, for the subject at hand, Romans had the best response 2:14-15; For when Gentiles who do not have [h]the Law do [i]instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having [j]the Law, are a law to themselves, 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them This ultimately (and yes, I can hardly believe I am referencing scripture in a societal question- I guess there’s no separation of verse and state), means that the ilk that we are may be influenced, but the result is predominately in our own hands. I probably missed the entire point, but then again, the broader images remains with me. Good verse.
