Silent Devotion

My gift to her would be a love song,      a gift of words that's never been said. I would find a way within this love song,      to write new words that's never been read. Repeating some things that's been said for ages,      the words "I love you" with all my heart. Describe my passion of how it rages,      and hollow feelings when we're apart. Composing rare words to express emotion      of this love I have within. Creating new words conveying devotion,      defining my love again and again. From mystical ink onto magic paper,      venting words of love with beauty rare. Besetting words as with a vapor,      an aroma from these words, filling the air. From a simple man, a stature of common,      words with new meaning of how much I care, From my heart, no power to summon,      words found worthy for one so fair. These words as prisoners, bound with chain,      unable to express this love I feel. Within my heart these words remain,      words held captive against their will.                      -lamar
