In Dubious War

Who (what) proclaims “Eternal War”    like some standing principle Some conduct of diplomacy     set upon youth to be disposed         like cords of wood Who vascillates between Zion and                            Islam     like they were bumper cars Flinging rumors about over loyalties     only constant in betraying his own Is he that slinking sloth cringing all                              before him The hideous Second Coming personified     doubly blinding the shrinking violet                   of white prosperity He is, it is known, the gap, the gulf     between the righteous and the forlorn
