Love Still Wins

I have had lost in my life so far from beyond  So far from anything reasonable  that my mind or heart still can not touch it I have known the lost of  comfort so perfect that since  she left I have felt nothing  similar, or so close to the mark  since then  Yet somewhere in me I know  that she still loves me  all these miles away in all these seconds  since her departure  I know that  Love still wins

Business first, S1L1 (loss), S2L1 (loss), S1L4 (cannot- one word) Joe, I have to share that this piece has been written so many times, but so many who share the same. You interpretation is a pointed as any I have read, or written. Your last stanza taking “time”, “distance”, “emotion”, “departing and tether” all in a single thought winds the entire piece into the single basket of the moment. I appreciated the piece very much.

Very touching poem Joe. Losing someone is like losing a piece of yourself and some transitions leave us wanting what we had so much that it stops progress in healing finding a new way to live our lives. True love lasts forever and your poem renders these feelings distant as they may be - still exist. Deni
