Country Christmas King-size moon on regal snow Dogs asleep by fireside’s glow Children, off to bed you go! Quiet settles in Barns are full of fragrant hay Cattle low and horses neigh Distant bells ring Santa’s sleigh Happy dreams begin Angels sing from starry skies Mom and Dad wrap each surprise Love and wonder in their eyes Eve of Christmas morn! Children rise at break of day Run to find the grand display Clearly hear the grown-ups say: Christ The Lord Is Born! |

Marcia, this is quite invigorating. I have become one where good feelings trump whatever else everyone says is wrong. I don’t hide, or ignore the responsibilities to make things right, I just prefer to dwell on the type of thoughts elicited by a verse such as this.
This could be one of those pieces, read at the same time the night before Christmas is read. It is an amalgam of such, and silent night, joy to the world, and the children whose surgar plums (and yes, I’ve had them and loved them, particularly with real cream poured over them), dance by the fire.
What a fine piece for a heart such as mine. It hits the moment and makes the year.
Well done.
