less well loved

a life less well taken a life less well lived a life less well given a life less well loved not much to say even less to be written not much to be heard even less to be seen by a crooked mouth and palsied hands by mutant ears and clouded eyes not much to know even less to feel by a deranged mind and an ischemic heart no soul to touch no faith apparent no sense aware no glory to redeem a defective life less well lived a lifeless heart less well loved

Is this for someone you know who suffered a stroke? I remember you mentioned once that you're a doctor. Perhaps one of your patients? My sister is a doctor too, and some stories she tells me are deeply upsetting. Your words simply walk the reader through difficult but honest feelings. No soul to touch, no faith apparent indeed. There is so much more left to give to the world, so much more to love and be loved.. and to live.. less well loved.. i will remember that.

This poem has such a sad and almost hopeless tone to it. You describe the pain and frustration of a life that has not found it beauty or potential. It could easily be the lyrics for a blues song.

Great al round use of words and well written. I would so much liked to have had some resolve at the end. Like who or what this poem is about. It feels like it is building up to something, then the end. Regards. Kevin,
