Give GOD The Glory

Hey check this folks 'cause this I need to say, you see every since I can remember I've been having things my way. So maybe I've been Blessed from the beginning because every since I was a kid I've been winning. I wasn't really thinking about that 'cause I was too busy pattin myself on the back. I thought I was as good as they come and I wouldn't be out done by any one. All you had to do was look and you would see , the way I boast you know I'm all about me. Like going through life making castles out of sand, whatever the weather they would stand 'cause I could work miracles with my hands. Even through the worst of storms with gale force winds, I wouldn't bip, bop or even bind.  Through the darkest of nights or if the day was sunny, it made no deference I still made all money. While every day I was with a different girl because in my mind this was my world. Hey I was doing things that people could only dream but instead of shining bright, all I had was a gleam. I had accomplished all my goals, still inside me was a big hole. And that big hole I was unable to fill, I tried wine, women and even pills, still, that big hole I couldn't seal. So I looked to the sky and asked, Lord, why? But nothing I heard, not a peep not a word. While being stuck in my fixation, I had a real revelation. How do you think all this came to be? The sky, the Earth or even the tree, the beasts of the fields, the fish of the sea?  How do you think man came to be? Then I started to wonder, where can I look? I heard, The Bible is a great place to start but first you must open your heart. So I opened The Bible and looked it over, I found He's almighty GOD and His name is JEHOVAH. I also found, with God none of us could win because every since Adam, we were all born into sin. So God sent his son, who died for us all, His name is JESUS and without Him we would all fall. And if you open your heart and let The Lord in, He will guide you to all righteousness and exalt you among men. Now the hole has been filled, I can now hold my head up and I can chill. You see I found, it's alright to do your do my friend but without The Lord you're just chasing the wind, and it's alright to tell your story, But You Got To Give GOD The GLORY.

Amen brother! Preach on! Nothing I can say here that I haven't already said about your other pieces. Give it some structure brother---some form to keep it warm. Your lines are disconnected and the meaning's been affected. God put this world and everything in it in its own specific order--use your flavor and return the favor...peace!

Hello Milton, This is a very profound poem with good pace and well chosen verbiage. It is easy to see that you've spoken from the heart and there is nothing genuine emotion and praise in your poem. IMHO though, it would be so much easier to read if you'd lay out your writing in stanzas instead of stringing it out as a paragraph which would also give this awesome pinning more punch and garner more reads. Thank you for sharing this work with us. Best always, Lora

Wonderful poem on the awakening of what matters most in life -but go gentle on yourself - No one gets through this life without scars from our pasts - I enjoyed reading this - it's a fresh style that made me feel happy - blessings, Deni

Hi Milton: This is a fine prose poem, so sincere and reverent. You really got your message across. Your wordage was spot on...in your description of how to go about finding the Lord and learning that you have to "GIVE GOD THE GLORY!" Your self expression is impressive. Your lines are too long in this piece, but the message is clear. Great work! Thank you!
