Don't Think You Know

Good morning Father, I need to have a talk with you, because to myself I need to be true. For I am living in a world of shadow and doubt and I thank you Lord for straightening things out. Lord I have been looking at my life thinking I was living it right, I thought I had the scoop, until you started to show me the truth and I was thrown for a loop. Now I have listen to people who sound intelligent and some not quite so, some could prove what they said and others I know, were just putting on a show. But there is none in worst shape than the ones who think they know. I know this to be true 'cause I also thought I knew. So your laws I did forsake and that was a huge mistake, while growing up in the hood where up is down and bad is good, It's no longer just there, so it must be in the air because everywhere it has spread, now ain't that a kick in the head. Lord it started when I was a child, I heard screw discipline and  run wild. Well life burst my bubble and I stayed in trouble. Then, why work when you can get over and you can do it all while getting high, forget being sober. Well I ended up on the rocks 'cause that took me to the school of hard knocks. Then I heard, drown your troubles and rebel, so I did and that took me through a living hell. Now the world makes this easy to believe, you think you know but you are being very naive and totally deceived. I thank you Lord, for you have shown me, in this life that has so many ways you can go, to take it slow and if you choose The Word you will grow, but whatever you do don't think you know. Now Lord I see,we are living in perilous times, high and heinous crime. People are turning cold as ice, many are starting to say down with Jesus Christ and the whole world is about to pay an extremely high price, at The Rise Of The Anti-Christ. Without you Lord He is an unbeatable foe and one of his most powerful weapons is, To Make You Think You Know. This comes with a twist, 'cause He will also make you think, He don't exist. He know us all to well and his mission is, to send us all to Hell. And I thank you Lord for showing me that The Holy Bible is the key to unlocking life's mysteries. Without you my life was a waste, 'cause whatever I face, I now know I can do nothing without Your Grace. And talking to you have cleared things up, because going the way of the world you will drink from a very bitter cup. Now I am all aglow, because walking with you, I no longer think I know. Thank You again for the talk, with You I can Walk The Walk.

Hi Milton. You certainly are full of the Holy Spirit. You have a nice testimonial message here, and your poem definitely sounds "street-smart". Again though, it's a bit difficult to read when it's written as one long sentence. If you break those lines up and place them into blocks, it will be much easier to read and your messages contained within will stand out more. Gotta give you props for your dedication though!

I love your natural rhyme scheme; I also believe we are given a gift - the gift from above to be able to express such beautiful words in poetic form - Keep writing - you have defined your style -which is wonderful - Amen, blessings, Deni

Thank you for sharing your unwavering faith. I would like to see the work in a stanza form. I would help the flow of the read more effective for the reader. So much of what you speak of will sound familiar to those of us that have travelled your road, and let them no they are not alone.

Hello Milton: Actually, this is an uplifting poem geared to letting others know that they don't really know everything they need to know about the Lord Jesus Christ or the Holy Bible. This poem, although it has a lot of internal rhyme, reads in such a sing song form, it should be a song. Everything it says is nice, written with love for the Lord and great intentions for anyone who reads it and yet its format is frustrating and the lines being so long make it hard to follow. I am no poem scientist but just trying to help you understand how I felt reading this. I can tell you love Jesus Christ and follow his leadership as I do. I commend you for that. It is not my intent to hurt you. Please forgive me for anything I have said that may cause you pain. Thank you!
