Miranda

Miranda was a lovely girl Wore a switchblade in her satin gown Her raven hair in ringlets fell Held fast by a diamond studded crown She hated every man she met Though many for her love had schemed A sudden thrust would bring regret Miranda was just not what she seemed She used her beauty to deceive And killed with lust for love of blood With every drink she did believe Her power grew stronger as it should Then one night the reaper came And fair Miranda met her match Before she could lay forth her claim Her lovely head he did detach Happy, Happy Halloween!

Great Halloween poem; the imagery and rhyme scheme perfected - Miranda was certainly repaid for her dirty deeds - Loved this one Wanda, Deni

I love it. Very much in the classical style of poetry I grew up reading. I could totally see kids reading this one aloud around a camp fire on all Hollows eve.

Wanda – Well; having dated this woman several times unders differing psuedonyms, I am glad to find out exactly what her disposition was. Miranda- LOVE YA!!! It is always nice to come upon a calendar based whimsy. In fact; I think I might effort one- you sort of inspired me there. I haven’t done one this year. Beauty to deceive? Who ever thought of that?

Happy Halloween indeed! I love rhyming lyrical poetry and this is just lovely and so appropriate for this time of year! Stephen King came to mind when I read this. Love the sing-song rhythm of it, and I had a vision of a psychopathic homecoming queen. The "switchblade in her satin gown" is quite evilly delicious! Too bad Death killed her in the end, I would love to read more about lovely Miranda! Very nice!
