Sweet Mysteries

"How does the rain taste?"  you asked, then kissed me with rain drenched lips. I didn't know the stars danced- then there was that sparkle in your eyes. You've always been my sanctuary, your loving arms, my safety net. "Love," you said, is just one of those sweet mysteries that we never understand  and yet it keeps us warm and happy,  fills our hearts with joy and contentment, and like a lucky star, it keeps us aligned,   and thanking God for those sweet mysteries.

I love the title you chose Wanda - very catchy yet simplistic - Love poems are one of my favorite reads - and you've captured it so well within each verse - Pure love and not love lost -stands out with all of the words you chose to include in it - "rain drenched lips" - beautiful - eyes to the soul with stars dancing and sparkling - such a happy feel - and always a mystery to those who are fortunate to find, live and greet a day blessed to be in love - It is a safety net - a place of refuge from the rest of the world - to know someone cares for us so much - to love us - to balance out our lives - and bring so much good in to it - I completely enjoyed this poem - blessings, Deni

How lovely to be in the arms of someone who inspires such poetry in you.. Very easy read. I wonder why you chose to write this as a couple instead of a shorter line free-verse structure. Perhaps something to explore?

Wanda, This report back, is the impetus that I find the reason for what I do. It is filled with analogy, it is filled with a peek into your soul, it is filled with another way to view love within a relationship. It has left images that made me smile this morning. Having lived a long and checkered romantic life, love remains a refreshing repartee, nevertheless. To read of the word “contentment” in the context of romance, after reading of the heat in S1, and the metaphysical in S2, is something extremely magical; as it should be. Thank you for my morning.
