"The Bug" Ain't it funny how life turns out People always runing about Don't know which Way to turn And not having a lot of time to burn Doctor says get off your feet Lay back and rest for me Have another dose of this drug To purge your system of the bug I'm getting up on my feet And live my life as I please I may not have much time But I'm not going to let it Stop my mind. My mind is strong, my heart stronger My will to live will last longer I ain't going to let this bug get me down Cause' I'm going to spend a night on the town. I'm going to enjoy my life And leave all my troubles behind I'm going to party all night long And live until I die. |
Additional Notes:
Ain't is suppose to be used. The bug is cancer and the lady in the poem is terminal. She decides
to forget about prolonging her life and instead enjoy it while she can. A lesson we all can
learn from.
