No Tears…

Walking down a crowded street, The sound of my crutches hit concrete, I will never give in and claim defeat…. There are always people glancing my way. I wonder what happened?  They'd say… I hear whispers, so young and pretty, Oh my… Isn't it such a pity? I keep on walking, head held high. A smile in place, from me they will hear no sigh. In public no tears appear on my face, Always a smile, a tear...Not a trace.... I'm me …just me…I'd want to say. Just need a little help to walk is all. That's why I'm walking this way, My head held high trying to walk tall. No one will know how much I feel defeat, When I'm walking with my dragging feet. At night when I lay me down to sleep... My pillow and I feel the stream of my tears, But only God and I know my deep fears.
