Love Hurts Salty tears, swollen eyes, butterflies Shaking hands and arms, body quivers Thoughts pondered what went wrong Nervous tension sets in hard Sweat glands' work overtime Vision gets blurred What can I do? Floors paced back and forth Phones carried in cradled arms The pagers on full alert Email sent by the dozen An electronic world used to the max Inside, outside, you just sit and wait Just one phone call is all it will take Mad you're not, worry sets in What has happened what went wrong? She left at noon yesterday Heard nothing for hours during the day Day went to night and night into day No communication came this way What can I do? Love is beautiful and full of grace Togetherness and sharing needs to take place If only the pager with go on alert I didn't know how much love could really hurt |
