To Rejoice in Death

Silently I watch you cry   Tears flowing softly down    Yearning to touch the one you love   Learning to say goodbye.     Never an easy task.   Looking in the face of death   Never a welcome mask.   Learning how to rest.   You drift off slowly   To welcome a new place   Full of joy and contentment   A welcomong embrace.   The pain releases   A battle won   Your life on earth    Is finally done.   Hard you toiled   Silently you suffered   Your legs grew weak   Your hands became soiled.   So rest my young friend   Suffer no more   Follow the light   That leads to the door.   Open it slowly   Rejoice in its warmth   Rest your weary heart   Sing a joyous song.   The Lord will take you   To heaven above   Your life here has ended   But there its just begun.
