I Remember I remember saying "oh please don't go" I remember the look on his face I remember feeling at a loss for words that could not be replaced. Lying in a hospital bed Tubes Wires What was it the doctors say? I wasn't really listening Through sobs I thought I heard you say goodbye Silently, And in your own way, The way you always did things I remember the funeral home The smell of flowers blooming with life How ironic, I thought That they live so free in such a place I remember getting in the car big black car just for us they said as if we were special Why didn't we feel like it then? Why did it feel like our lives had fallen apart? (because they had) I remember the cemetary such a cold and lonely place I thought Not where you belong But there was no choice Just to make it through the day took all we had I remember to this day all the little details of everything we ever did. How we fought so galaintly To make our lives so grand And I remember In one instant How everything was swept away Taken away from us as if the wind picked it up And blew it out to sea. |
