Davie's Pond

Off the main road surrounded by woods A pond is still. One tree bends over the water. There is an old stone house Reflecting tranquillity and charm. Sometimes the pond shows a ripple A snapping turtle takes a breath. The pond comes alive in springtime at night. Sit very stil and frogs will serenade you. A dam trickles water ever so slightly Down some moss-covered rocks.           Listen To the rhythm of the trickling water.           Feel The warm rays of the sun Filtering through the trees.           Look Around see the white birches Silhouetted against the woods. Yellow leaves are dancing in a light breeze.
