Wounded Soldier

I am a wounded soldier,                     I fell... so long ago.          I cannot leave the battle, my heart it is not whole.         Somewhere lost in time lies my youth, my love, my joy,            for deep within my soul I still cry for the boy.            Oh God bring me back from the land so far away,                      give me rest in my heart,                   help me laugh, love and play,              for I am but a child, in hell to this day.         I cannot forget the past, I cry, I hurt, I pray...                    For the freedom from within,                     oh... a way to come home;            Oh God don't forget me left here all alone...
