How Deep is Love

On the crystal sand at the ocean side Whitecap waves came with the rising tide Three little children playing with glee You sat to the right a little behind me The children all played in the windswept sand Built a sand dolphin and thought it was grand Ran to the water and splashed in the sea Innocent and happy, free as could be Together we came but separate as one To share our thoughts before the day was done Your thoughts however could not be found Unable to share with the children around Honor I must your silence request For you I know that  is best So many questions I had on my mind Too many for me left unsigned Your eyes told a story of desperate dispar Like I did not know or would even care Your decision was made but how would you share Afraid for me the results to bear Unspoken words sang out the pain Why must these feelings all be slain Wondrous things given from the start Why must you now have to depart? Answers for you are well deserved Questions for you must be observed Forgiveness I ask of you for all of your pain Forgiveness I ask let this not be in vain I did not know what love could do How fast it would grow and just continue The deepness proclaimed right from the start How deep you are buried, Deep in my Heart The meaning of true love must I now really know To help you and guide you I must bestow I could just look it up in the dictionary But my thoughts and plans must be cautionary  (in love (with), infused with or feeling deep affection or passion (for); enamored (of) Inscribed words with this meaning to be But is it right for you or for me My definition is different than this For me to love is to give total bliss Matters not my pain or my grief I can not steal from you like a common thief Your hopes and dreams must be the first Free in your choices and never coerced To give from my heart, soul, and being To accept your desire without disagreeing To do for you all that is right So your life may be full of delight I am just (one) in your many of life I have caused much sorrow to much strife My love for you is deep in my heart The reasons that now I must depart Your dreams and wants not the same as mine I must honor them and let your life shine I want you my love and hate to depart But your want and wish is for a fresh start
