Full Summer

I glanced with a grin as she giggled with delight and Roy sang the "Ooby Dooby" with all his might. Clanking icy bottles of Coke, we kept  the beat with unfledged frenzied fingers and sang for all we were worth.    Touring down the hard packed road spewing behind newborn dust cyclones  in the wake of the white-walled whale, chickens scattered, clucking their annoyance as a pant of air ruffled the treetops. Starched cotton blouses stuck to sticky skin as we drove feverishly toward the midway lights. Chains of brilliant bulbs strung in succession made our faces glow with the excitement and anticipation of the evening. A soft hand sporting candy apple bits switched off the meddling crackling radio as we turned into a grass woven parking lot. We gazed upward as our feet hit the ground and our heads went around and around.
