Beseeching Sleep

Sleep, Sleep why hast thou not come for me? Mine eyes lay heavy with want of slumber And yet thou wilt not come for me. Sleep, Sleep why hast thou not come for me? My body is tired and  full of weakness In most desperate need to drink of thee. Sleep, Sleep why hast thou not come for me? My mind is coming undone So come, come, come for me. Sleep, Sleep at last thou hast come for me! Giving me calm and rest So that I might be at my very best. Sleep, Sleep thou dost give me peace And ease my wearied soul Causing me to awaken refreshed and whole.

Additional Notes:
Written on whimsy - I love sleep and and in between dozing one day I managed to put out a couple of stanzas and finished the rest later. It might be more aptly named "Ode To Sleep" - any suggestions?
