FUNERAL

I remember the past as I bury you with  each ounce of love and care I once held in your eyes. The ground is now soft as I dig into the depths of the passion we shared  and uncover the truth. With each mound, the effort becomes easier and one scream escapes me emphasizing the moments of pain. The hollow heart  engulfs the echo of the sound which storms through the air, angry with having been released. In one swift movement, I throw you in, hurling the gnawing ache so  forcefully I can feel the muscles in my arms  tighten and relax repeatedly. You are forever erased feeding the yellow daffodils growing within the confines of my soul; and I cover you With the blanket of security found by releasing you to the heavens while planting securely my roots in the freshly plowed field of my whole being.
