Overture

A guarded glance to see your face as the words are leaving your mouth honeyed, sticky as they flow. Am I to believe their sweetness? Losing ground I circle on back and approach with a sullen look to try again to make some sense. Convincing yes, believable I'm not quite sure, so I wait for the next barrage of reason to bail us both out of this dark sea.
