Come Here, Ethiopian Boy!

Come here Ethiopian boy and hesitate not for I must tell my problems to you. Come set your pail and worry not for I can beat what troubles you. Mr. American, I would like to leave Of your trials, I do not believe. No time have I to sit and chat I have more work, never-ending at that. I sweat all day and hunger all night with a pleased belly I can not delight. I work from birth with no avail my ribs can show so thin and frail. Come here Ethiopian boy and hesitate not for I will tell my problems to you! Come set your pail and worry not for I will beat what troubles you! Open your ears and listen well for I have more than one story to tell. Open your mind and understand me for I have more problems than you’ll ever see: I fax all day and copy all night with a pleased partner I can not delight. I work from morn’ with no avail my wallet can show so thin and frail. I fetch I mail I listen I rhyme yet where are the luxuries that should be mine? I type I drive I attend I send yet where are the millions I yearn to spend? A sad story have I and one I will tell; life can be hard and I’m not so well. Oh Ethiopian boy! Forget your damn ribs and listen to me.
