Cherub

                                    Puckered, shrivelled, motionless,                                       Hasteless, lying - careless,                                     Passed over, used, sun-parched,                                      Movement gone, post - marched,                                      Layers limp, ridges levelled,                                   Seams unravelled, stiching bevelled,                                     Ruffles flattened, ribbons torn,                                     Sleepless nights, relenting dawn,                                       Pools grow, tide undulating,                                    Anguish thrown, embellished waiting,                                   Morbid thinking, perversed intention,                                    Innocence gone, blessing unmention,                                     Dark sorrow, deep furrow, pain,                                     Staring, watching, pelting rain,                                     Curly, soft, sweet, bitter-born,                                     Dreams float, sweet Cherub gone.                                             Copyright 1999.
