Cup of Life

I loved a love so much, I fear she came to fear it. A tree is falling in the woods And no one’s there to hear it. I love her, oh, I do Just see, and you can tell. But go sell sea shells by the sea shore And see what you can sell. I can say it a thousand times I can yell it a thousand years. But where does the persistence come,  When you’re yelling to deaf ears. I tried as much as one man can, Limping to a door. Then knocking, knocking, knocking, knocking, Knocking ever more. Sometimes I wish she’d hear me, Hearing what I think. But then I sigh and say goodbye,  And take another drink.
