Lost

I got hopelessly lost on that long ago day I said I do in a precariously careless sort of way and the sweet  that never was turned black every action has a reaction and my karma paid me back only the bitter honey  we shared kept us sticky together and my restless guilty heart fought against the cell in which you kept me tethered and somehow I got stuck in your heart and you were forever stuck in my throat your flypaper bound me to your side looking out  through barred windows at the drawbridge and the moat and you always came home to feed upon my hope my wrists  were brush burned form your controlling rope and still I stayed curled up with all those lemons I cried and that haunting  melody of you that wouldn't die until one day I let my dove like heart fly between the bars crazy wild and free and your sad eyes razored through and saw you'd lost the essence of me your pain caused me to try to coax it home and nurse it back to violently ill but it only  made the blackness more empty sunbaking there on the windowsill
