Tiny Beginnings

As a tiny little being you were thrust into this life, with nothing to protect you  from the brightness of the light. All wrinkled you lay screaming at the mercy of all I could almost hear you pleading please protect me, I'm so small. And then without a sound you lay sleeping in my arms I softly whispered, I'm your Mother, I'll protect you from now on. The clock of life keeps ticking you are now full grown it seems like only yesterday your laughter filled our home. All the memories of your childhood I recall so vividly, and when I'm all alone I clearly can hear your tiny feet running after me.
