Lone Sidewalk

Lone shadow. Lone sidewalk etching through the tassled grass. One eye existing figure, many unconquered fears. One ocean shore, one half-bitten moon. Many thoughts, one universal dream. Stupendous, uninhabited, here. I'm lost and overtaken. Sidewalk veers, street lamps end; an unforgiving course. Onto the catwalk, into the sea. An aimless blind eye leads the way, tripping, splashing, falling into- Prohibited waters. Dreaded one-sided compromises. Kisses held in hand. Charismatic couples prostituting. I only have to stand and walk away. Turn around, reason with fate. Head back on that belligerent one way sidewalk... "Stand up and face your fears, they are not as scary as you think." Lone shadow. Lone sidewalk etching through the tassled grass. One lifestyle, many changes. 9-97
