Psalm 139--My Version

Lord, You know me-- what little there is to know. I frankly don't know how you stand to look at me, but I guess you've seen it all, and then some. Lord, doesn't you jaw just drop in shock just to listen to me? I don't know how you stand me, really. But I suppose you've heard it all by now. Lord, I've got to get out of here. I've go to go to Tahiti, or go where the sun don't shine, or anywhere away from You. I buy the ticket but, Surprise!, there You are, tagging along, laughing that laugh of Yours, pointing out landmarks through the window, (You always get the window seat), telling me stories, buying my drinks, treasuring me. Hey!  It beats me!  I started out fine. You gave me a great start, I'll hand that to You. But somehow things went downhill from there. I don't know what You want to do with me and why you keep on following me. Don't You know a lost cause when You see one? You can be a real pest.  You know that, don't You? But God, I get so mad sometimes! I get mad to see them put You down. You ought to smack 'em upside the head. Or let me smack 'em. I'd do it for You... You just say the word! (Well, well, just listen to me. I guess we must be buddies after all.) Lord, You've seen the worst and heard the worst, and You still won't give up. So, go ahead, wash me down if that's what You want so bad.  Clean me up! You know what to do, Mr. Smarty so do it, already. Because believe me, believe me, myself, I don't know what to do.
