Poetic License

Issued by his Muse in Nineteen Forty-eight, This license to **Ta Da** enunciates  (see note below) His right his mother tongue to mutilate, Should in the course of Art his need be great. To twist or turn the meaning of a word, Or by its meaning make something inferred That never in this world has once occurred, This power to him by license is conferred. And most especially with regard to sound, By rules which bind you he will not be bound. And by this license he may make profound Those simple words he finds just lying 'round. But void this license be should he impart By pen to paper words not in his heart!

Additional Notes:
Note re line 2: **Ta Da** represents a 2 syllable place holder for my name which, for critiqueing purposes needed to be ommitted. I've have had a lot of fun with my "Poetic License" and made up a formal looking wall certificate laminated wallet card that I carry with me. I've also written poetic licenses for friends, customized based on their names and years of birth. Of course, they had to pass my "Poetic License Qualifying Examination" which is based on Carl Sandberg's "Nine Tentative Definitions of Poetry". To date, no one has failed and I find it highly unlikely that anyone ever will. If your interested in seeing the text of this, provide me with an email address and I'll send it to you.
