The War for My Soul

7-21-93 They are fighting for my life-my soul already having been won by the powers in heaven My mind is in a battle of giving up and letting the angels of darkness carry it away, or grasping limply with one hand to a glimmer of a bright forever with the angels of beauty and my Lord of All Fear of the future grips my heart-what if , why, how can I- invade my thoughts. How about forget it? It is too hard Strength I am known for is apparent on the outside, concealing almost a desperate cry of being lost Lost as a child in a dark jungle of roaring lions and trees that have ears and strong bony arms to hold me as they whisper depressing, crushing thoughts to my already abused mind. Snakes of desperation wrap around my throat and threaten to choke the life out of me, and I almost let them. I almost yearn to be gone, as the life I have led seems to be void of anything but hassles. The battle for my soul is like the ultimate battle in Revelation. Good versus evil, only they are not fighting the ultimate battle-except in regard to my life. My vision is blurred by tears of self-pity and frustration, but I see the Lord that I have given my life to, leading the battalions on my behalf. He cries “Charge! Save my precious child!” “Do whatever it takes," He whispers to His leader, “she cannot lose this battle!”. The enemy slyly glances at me and smiles. “She is worn out-good work!”, as he pokes his commander, who had been responsible for the temptations and thoughts in my life. Commander grins, “No problem, we have her now.” So, the battle continues. I just watch wearily, not hoping for anything, just waiting for the result. That is what I am reduced to now. No hope.
